I have it. It is very annoying and potentially dangerous as you lose your power steering/braking. It normally only happens in the cool morning hours while I'm on my way home from work, but it will also happen if I do a run to 100+ mph and start to slowly brake. I have read that the best way to fix this problem is to have Ford reflash the ECU, but that would mess up the tune my car has. I have also read that theres a screen between the air filter and MAF sensor that people remove to give the airflow a less restricted path, and that this can cause the stalling problem. I was wondering if anybody had any helpful information on this matter. It causes you to change they way you drive and to use your gears to slow you down instead of just compressing the clutch and using the brakes.
BTW it wont stall if I brake hard, only if I brake at a normal speed.
Edit: My car is missing the screen between the MAF and air filter

Yes, it will screw up your tune, they reflash back to a stock tune.
THe stall can be cured with a custom tune. Tell your tuner you have it, they should know how to fix it.
Yes there is a screen, yes you should remove it...this of course is assuming you still have the stock air box.

happened to me too, but after re-learning like you said to always be in a gear and not let the engine drop to idle while moving, i never had a problem.
btw i dont know if its a law in other states, but california has a law that with manual cars, you MUST downshift while decelerating/using brakes. i think it had to do with the older day cars, if you dropped to idle and then hit the brakes, with some larger motors of the time, there was a chance there wasnt enough vacuum to run the brake-booster or power steering and thus they rear ended another car or lost control or the like.

My car has a K&N filter, Manaflow exhaust, Steeda Tri-Ax, and 2.93" blower pulley. I also read somewhere to turn up the idle to fix the problem, but my car already idles slightly high.

Yeah cali is so screwed up though, if they ever re-think about this law, they'll ban downshifting like that to decrease emissions

yea I dont believe that... sorry its a bit far fetched that they would force you to downshift your car while slowing down.. if anything you burn more gas that way as the rpms go down very low when you just put it in neutral.
