As soon as I saw the story on the news I wondered about that. Are blood thirsty car insurance companies going to start selling plans that cover falling cosmic ice chunks? LOL |

well in all reality im sure they will cover it BUT the owner will have to pay for it and it will go on their record and raise their rates.
When I hit a deer ... thats exactly what they did.

That makes no sense Brandon. He wasnt in the car and couldn't "avoid" the ice. So there is no reason he should be held at fault and raise his rates. You hitting a deer is a different story then a big chunk of ice falling from the sky out of no where and landing on a parked car.

I was parked at my apartment and someone splashed chemicals on my car...it went on my record and my rates went up.
I was parked in a lot and someone backed into me and left...it went on my record and my policy was canceled because I used it too much.
If there is nothing you can point fault at, typically it goes on your policy and changes your rating because they have no one else to get the money from...and they have to re-stock their funds somehow. |
