I ran my car on a Mustang Dyno today. It made 165 horsepower and 250 ftlbs of torque. Instead of doing just the normal run, i did a quarter mile run to see how much i was making in each gear. Im actually doing a school project, i dynoed it as is, im gonna put on an off road h-pipe and see if theres any difference in any of the gears. I know there wont be a big difference but im just happy i get to put new parts on my car and play on the dyno for a grade. The only mods i have that effect power are a cold air intake, headers, a catted x pipe, slp loud mouth cat back, and 3.73 gears. The car isn't tuned either, i need to get on that this summer. Does anyone know what a near stock or stock 95 gt usually makes on the dyno, or even the foxes with the 5.0? Sorry the dyno sheet is so small.

For a mustang dyno, or other loaded dyno's for that matter... you're seeing about a 12% loss to the wheels over what a typical dynojet would show (about 15% lower than crank HP) so I would say, if you've got a manual trans your cars running about 210 HP to the crank, if you're auto you're probably around 225 or so to the crank
Just a thought

I know this is an old thread but i finally ran the car on the dyno again.....i put on an off road h-pipe and ran it.....she threw down 171 horsepower and 255 ft/lbs which is only a little different than the x-pipe. That run was 168 hp and 253 ft/lbs. Not much difference which i expected but o well it was fun to do for a school project.

I could almost swear that the 94-5 were rated at 215 just like the 93's and 92's since in 92 they changed the way the hp was rated(again) and it was actually still the rated 225 in years past. I have no phucking idea how to read that dyno sheet. Someone please get me a 4th gear pull from 2000 up PLEASE.

It's easy to read if you know what your looking at....this run is a quarter mile run...each "mountain" is a gear...the up slope is where my foot is on the floor, and the down slope is where i was shifting.....the peaks are the max torque and horsepower for the gear.....the lines at the end are the car slowing down, the test was over.....the torque is blue and the horsepower is the maroon.

I just had my car on the dyno. I did two pulls one in 4th gear and one in 3rd.
I peaked 185.3 rwhp @ 4043 rpm and 255.3 rwtq @ 3200 rpm in 4th gear. I didn't like those numbers considering my mods: MAC cat-back, BBK shorties, Catco H-pipe, BBK cai, Professional Products 70mm throttle body, and a Proform short throw. So I did a second pull in 3rd and got a peak of 201.1 rwhp @ 4232 rpm and 277.0 rwtq @ 3079 rpm. I guess the stock 2.73's had a big thing to do with the crappy 4th gear numbers.

well the dyno is off, you wont make more hp/tq just being in a different gear if the dyno is setup right.
