Cam a stock 5.0

Ok I want to cam my 5.0... Which cam should I get and why?
Im cam stupid so some explainin on how cams work would be greatly appriciated.

if you do a cam, do a head and intake swap at the same time... just a cam wont you net you much power since your heads wont flow much anyway

i want to do that upper lower typhoon intake and a c-6 tanny....anyone ever heard anything on the typhoon intakes?

Bout all I know is the the typhoon upper is similar to RPM upper intakes and people seems to like'em ,try 50resto - America's #1 Ford Mustang Parts Source, they have the cheapest prices I've come across

Chances are, the cam you get will simply bump the HP and torque curve up in the RPM range a bit, torque will be about the same, + or - 5 ft lbs, HP, due to slightly better efficiency at a higher RPM, you might see 10 HP or so (that's if you do nothing else...) Just my $.02...

That is the initial goal that he has. Since the 4.10's, he has lost top end power. He is trying to regain that.

well i am lookin to gain some power back in the higher rpms.... before i do a cam though i plan on gettin a C-6 and puttin in it....ill prolly get the Typhoon upper and lower then the cam.... im just lookin to gain a little of my topend power back.... I cant handle anymore power of the line right now because all i do is spin through first

im intrigued to know why you would be going with a C6 tranny

personally just do the h/c/i all at once then from there you can upgrade springs, rockers you know all the smaller things that needs to be done

Well, he wants more than 4 gears...and, well, the only thing that popped into my mind for a more than 4 gear auto was the C6...that I could remember anyhow. Could be wrong though...not up on cams nor autos.

EDIT: And well, making the assumption the 6 meant 6 speeds since the C4 is 4 speed...well...looks like I be wrong on that assumption. C6 = 3 speed? That blows. lol

EDIT2: Looks like maybe the Ford 6F transmission might be a good option...assuming you could get a bellhousing that will bolt up to the 5.0.
