I have an 03 GT with 4.6, off road x pipe, flow master 40's, 3.73 gear, mhw shifter, bbk cold air kit,
I have been thinking about getting under drive pulleys before I have the dyno tune done. I drive the car on the street and on long trips from time to time. I live in the middle of Florida.
I have had two speed shops tell me not to get them.
What do you people think?
Thanks in Advance

Do you have alot of accsessories... System or anything that would use more battery than normal?

What he said. We have pullies, but don't have a kickin stereo, and also spends a lot of time at higher rpm since it's highway all the way to work. If you are in stop in go alot, charging the battery might be a problem.

I never had any issues with a crank only under drive (25%) dont expect much from them as with any bolt on but ... they do help gas milage a tad.

I dont know why everyone says they effect the battery and charging cause i had a UDP on my old V6 ontop of a system that was pushing 2 1000.1 amps to my subs and never once did it make a differ.
On an older car it does but not on newer cars.
I say go for it I noticed a differ when i put mine on not much but just enough

I to have had no problems and i have a system but the only thing it helps is the car revs and drops revs a bit quicker as long as you get the lightwieght underdrive crank pulley. Gas mileage does increase a bit

^ how do you have a profile for your stang but dont have any pictures in it?? come on man. lol. i went to a shop once and asked about a whole bunch of performance mods when i was still learnin what to/not to do with the 6er. the shop owner/top mechanic said that he always told ppl to stay away from them and he also said that if a car came in with ud pulleys, he would take them off of the persons car and put stocks back on. how gay is that. im like yea and you wanna do work on my car. lol. so, i have always been told not to put ud pulleys on cuz the gains arent worth the possible negatives. just thought id share.

I have the march piggybacks and never any issues. Theyre what, 150$, theyre a pita to install, and they give you zero sotp gains. so yeah, if they werent such a pain id uninstall them and sell them off, but im lazy so ill just leave them on for now. but yeah, in retrospect, i wouldnt do them again if i ever got another car.

OK, I've heard pros and cons with most of your guys' stangs but what about with mine. I have a Saleen supercharger and no system. What it be worth my money to get them?

I had the crank UDP and the alternator pulley as well when I had the air ride on. I had issues with that because the compressor would draw off the battery and with the smaller pulley for the alternator the charging system wasnt able to keep up so I did have to replace my battery later. I took them off when I took off the air ride but I put the crank UDP on only again. Acceleration is a tad bit quicker as well as the RPMs and I was able to rev higher between shifts. I havent had any problems with just the UDP so I think its worth it.

I'd say buy a crank pulley and leave it at that. I started out with an entire set, but eventually took off the alternator and water pump pulleys due to various issues.
The crank pulley is definitely worth it though in my opinion. Pretty cheap for the gains.

No, do not get them. If you were N/A like most of the people here, I would say definitely get them. Being blown, do not get them. While they may work out just fine, there is no sense in slowing down your water pump and risking any heat related issues. The gains are not worth the risk in my opinion.
