I am getting ready to buy a 1979 non-pace car 4cyl turbo coupe. It is really rough and I don't know anything about it except that it is rare. I can get it for $300 and I was wanting to know whether it is worth it or notand get a little info.
P.S. I really don't know anything about turbos.

one... thats a very hard year to buy for...and two its a rare engine... so i'd say for the amount your gonna pay for it and to fix it... you should bark up another tree IMO

if it is indeed a sedan model (trunk) its worth 300 bucks IF the body is in good shape and not rusted out etc etc as notchbacks are hard to come by.

yeah thats pretty tough, but if you say you know nothing about this car or motor your best bet is to stay away as it can lead to frustrations later on

i agree that it is hard to find turbo notches... but if you think you can fix it up go for it... those little turbo four-bangers can be built up to be pretty quick with after market turbos and other things of that nature.... but if you feel it would be to hard for you stay away from it and just get a 5.0.... you will like its power more anyway... I wish i had the chance to buy a little car like that, as long as it is in better shape than mine lol

people sell notches in bad shape for a ton of money around here... people rip them down and turn them into drag cars

I appreciate all of your guys input. I just didnt know if it was going to be worth the money and time. It will be around for a while, so I will hold off until I have the urge to cut into something like that.

I knew that was coming. I'm a big 4 eye fan, but was just a recommendation for someone who didn't like it.

I believe there talking about switching the front like taking the 4 eye look and putting the 87-93 front end

DING DING DING.. ...... Yep, that's the "potically correct" term for the front end.
