Why would you want to go with a weaker tranny, unless it's built?????
I'd say with the correct bellhousing and/or DS it should work, but I'm no expert.

yeah, umm, a 3650 is better anyways.
and yeah, i think the bellhousing is the same, might be a little different, but youll know once you get them side by side. driveshaft is prolly the same.
did you blow up your 3650?

it wont work, the T5 bolts to the bellhousing from the outside (much better idea... so you can drop the trans without the bellhousing...) and its overall different... im sure you COULD make it work but it would cost more than getting the right one.

driveshaft is different, # of splies or something along those lines, I don't have the exact specs
theoretically you could get a bell housing that will bolt up to the 4.6 & the t5 but I don't know of any companies that make them
even if you blew up 3rd gear, 3650 is a better trans...

The bell housing is different (bolts up different) and the input shaft has a different spline count. How about a TKO 500? Or a T56?

the 96 gt is a t-45 just as the 98 cobra is im unsure of any differences. You can use that tranny we have done it before but you have to make a trans mount the t-45 is either shorter than the 3650 or longer i can't remember.

They are both the same size and all the monuts line up the speed sensor is the only difference i have found. Im trying to put it in today. I cant find a conversion kit to make the cable driven speedo an electric speedo.
