been doing some basic maint on the GT for spring, picked up some bosch plats but i think they gave me the wrong set, check out the thread difference, the bosch ones have double. im no sparkplugologist, but i dont think these are gonna work. btw the bosch ones are the new looking ones on top.

yeah i usually do too, but they had only 6 ngk's, IMO most of the auto stores are always "two plugs short of a full tuneup"

the ones that came out of the car are motorcraft AWSF 32PM's and they have ~6 threads, the replacement Bosch HR9DPY have ~10 threads.
perhaps they are correct?

hmm well i installed them, now the idle is really "defined" i can hear each individual pulse through the exhaust, and its really "choppy" feeling between 1-2k when accelerating, and it feels really slow. im wondering if this is how the car is supposed to feel and ive been jipped?
im gonna drive it to work tomorrow and if it feels the same im gonna put the other ones back in and see if those make it better, if they do, ill scrap these bosch and find some NGK TR6's.

could be a severely wrong heat range, coil might not be pressed on all the way, etc.. If your car ran better before than it does now, I really doubt that's how the car was supposed to act... mine always felt slow but it was never choppy...

its sad that there is such a difference, i mean, people actually use bosch in cars and think they are good? its amazing such a garbage product can even be sold, i mean hell, i have a v8 and even i felt a major loss of power, i could only imagine what these would have done in the girls vw bug or the like, wouldve been even more gutless than it is.
from now on, the 1 hour it takes to hunt down the proper plugs will be the only option.

If you look at where the seat on the plug is they are in the same place so you wont have a problem with them except they are junk plugs

Did you find out if they would fit? I would've just looked up the numbers on advanced auto or autozone website to see which bosch's fit the car and compare it too what was on the spark plugs. I ran Bosch Plat. 2's on my old car it ran pretty good. Never run Bosch Plat 4's though unless you have a highly modded engine cause they'll heat up too quick and burn!

not sure which plugs the 4-6ers like the most, but for 3.8's and 5.0's regular old copper autolights are the best, ask your turner. they'll tell you.
