how much will a set of 4.10s and a tloc take off my 1/4 time? i run a 15.0 right now on stock gears and an open diff. on a 2.2 60'
how many rpms will i turn at 75ish? i do alot of interstate driving, but dont mind filling up.........gas doesnt bother me so long as it doesnt drop dramatically.
oh, and one more thing, will a 7.5 with 4.10s and a tlock hold 350rwhp safely? what about the 4r70w? what mods will i need to do? i already have a tranny cooler and am gonna install a 3k stall. it will all be done before summer ends.

probably a good .3 off your quarter times~ just depending on how the 60ft works out. Your rpms will increase by a given percent, just do the math on the RPM's of 3.27s vs 4.10s. I would guestimate around 2200 rpms at 60mph.

3.27 vs 4.10s they are set on the number of times the wheel makes a full turn vs the number of times the drive shaft makes a full turn.
1:3.27 vs 1:4.10
so .83 more turns per each turn of the drive shaft. Just do the percentage math that im to tired to do.

Kyle, if you are really wanting to go for something that you know will hold power, get a 8.8 pumpkin and put a locker and 4.10's in it. Your axles will bolt in as long as you get the right internal spline. Then you won't have to worry about your rear end.

What do you turn now at 75?
What size tires do you have again?
Based on my rough numbers and an RPM calculator I found, you would be looking at about 2800 rpm @ 75 mph...assuming my number guesses were right (255/45/16 tires - gives tire height of 25.04", 4.10 gears, and 75 mph calculator was here -> Engine RPM Calculator )

He is looking at a locker because the dealership told him an 8.8 requires an entire new rear end and some other shit to fit....

And it comes out to 2814 @ 75 mph....(tire height of 25.7)
2439 @ 65
3189 @ 85
4878 @ 130

And 8.8 will require...an 8.8... to fit....
The dealership doesn't know what they are talking about. Hell, go find a 8.8 out of a ranger or explorer, rebuild it, and throw it in with your axles. I need to find 2...lol.

Wish I would have known that when his car was getting fixed from the wreck. They told him it needed several things to work including some brake upgrades and ABS stuff and what not. He was going to have them upgrade it while they were replacing the axles cause one was bent.

GT brakes are exactly the same...you can swap all that around all day without any problems. And I don't see what ABS has to do with it since the sensor is located on the brake system, not the rear end.

Well, since you know this stuff...you would have had a field day with them from what Kyle told me. They gave a good list of reasons why it couldn't happen simply...he was just going to make up the difference of replacing the stock 7.5" with an 8.8" since the other lady's insurance was paying for replacing part or all of the 7.5" stocker.

I might be completely off base...but I really don't think so. I've done alot of reading about the differences...
Maybe someone else can chime in, but I do believe that as long as you aren't changing the spline count in the chunk the 7.5" axles will fit in perfectly.
