Pizzonia's attorney, Joseph R. Corozzo Jr., told the jurors they would hear testimony that members of the Bonanno crime family were the real culprits.

Sbano claimed he was in talks with a gynaecologist who was anxious for a certain cream to be applied, the prosecutor said.
"He (Sbano) suggested he would apply the cream to his penis and apply it inside her.
Mr Rees said the woman found the sessions "Clinical, not at all erotic". She consented only because she believed it was a proper treatment.
"When the insertions took place, and depending on the instructions of his friend, he would thrust slowly or quickly for anything from one to ten minutes,"
Her doctor told her to find out the identity of Sbano's gynaecologist friend but he "became evasive and never gave his name" beyond the word "Ibby".
"It began to dawn on her that he had devised this treatment in order to have sex with her on his terms."
Mr Rees said "Ibby" was traced but said he knew nothing about the treatment.
Sbano was arrested at Heathrow while attending a pilots' training facility.
He claimed the woman had invented the entire story about the "treatment".
Sbano, from Harrow, London, denies nine charges of rape and 11 or obtaining money by deception.
The trial continues.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Canada's postal system has stopped delivering mail to a home in Winnipeg after a mail carrier was scared away by a "very threatening cat," the Winnipeg Free Press reported Friday.
A Canada Post spokeswoman said the agency was concerned about the safety of its carriers, although it hoped for an amicable solution to its dispute with cat owner John Samborski.
"The letter carrier who delivers mail there ... was brought up on a farm, she is very comfortable with animals," spokeswoman Kathi Neal told the newspaper. "Apparently this is a very threatening cat."
Samborski told the paper that his 8-year-old declawed black cat, Shadow, is docile, and it was "ridiculous" for Canada Post to make him to pick up his mail from a post office 2 1/2 miles away instead of delivering it to his door.
Shadow "likes to eat and sleep and cuddle. You could drop a bomb and he'd just open one eye, take a look, then close them and go back to sleep," Samborski, 41, told the newspaper.
Samborski said he called a number listed on the one-page notice delivered to his house and talked to a supervisor, but remained flummoxed about allegations Shadow hid under their porch stairs and growled at letter carriers, the Free Press reported on its Web site.
Samborski said Shadow spends some time outside but has never had any problems with anyone — not even Duke, a large Weimaraner dog that lives in the same home, according to the Free Press site.
A neighbor said there is a small group of aggressive cats that marauds around the area, but Shadow isn't one of them, the Free Press reported.
Cat attacks on letter carriers are extremely rare but not unknown, Ken Hatch, a longtime Winnipeg mail carrier, told the Free Press. He said he once stepped over a sleeping cat while delivering mail and accidentally startled the animal awake.
"It jumped up and twisted in the air and bit me on the back of the calf," said Hatch, leaving him with "four little puncture wounds."

A restaurant worker accidentally charged her more than $8,000 for a meal, reported WYFF-TV in Greenville, S.C.
Now the restaurant is trying to correct the error.
The mistake happened at a Burger King location in Fountain Inn, S.C., on Thursday of last week.
Guadalupe Pequino bought $8.64 worth of food at the drive-in window and paid with her Visa check card, issued by Bank of America.
Because the total was entered twice, Pequino's receipt showed she was charged $8,648.64.
The restaurant general manager, Jimmy Gadagno, said workers immediately took steps to credit the account.
"It was an honest mistake, and the store has done everything it can to credit the account," Gadagno said.
Gadagno said the store got a reference number indicating the money was returned to the account on Sunday, but Pequino said it took until Tuesday morning for her to get her money back, the television station reported.
"It's caused her a lot of problems in paying her rent, paying her car payment, buying food," Pequino's friend, Richard White, said. White spoke for Pequino, who does not speak English well. "It's caused a lot of problems. I don't know too many people that can have $8,648 withdrawn from their account and carry on normally."

Boxley went to his friend, who was lying face down. He said he thought Stitt couldn't breathe. He lifted Stitt's head and heard him take three breaths.
Stitt went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.
Based on witness accounts, the man's death is not suspicious, police said.
"It was a bunch of older guys who thought they were still young," Boxley said.

HOUSTON -- A Texas mother who claims the family dog tore off her baby son's genitals has been arrested and accused of mutilating the boy herself with a sharp instrument.
Katherine Nadal is now awaiting a court hearing on custody of the boy. She has been charged with injury to a child and is being held on $100,000 bail.
Child-welfare authorities said she told social workers she woke up from a nap in March to find that her small dachshund had attacked her son. But police said a veterinarian and a doctor have agreed the dog did not cause the injuries.
Police have said in court papers that the mother had used a sharp instrument to cut off the boy's genitals.

Queensland police denied any cover-up in a state where their image has been dented by past accusations of police corruption and involvement with organized crime.
The raunchy wash, set up by a strip-club owner, was screened from the public and used recycled water to avoid breaching water use restrictions, they said.
"We don't want any traffic accidents caused by people looking at the girls instead of looking at the road," Superintendent Colin Campbell told local media.
