I have have the Saleen rims that came with the car. They are chrome plated and there are a few spots that have chipped away or started to just wear off. Mostly in the corners. It's your average wear and tear, small spots of corrosion, nothing major. I was wondering if anybody knew if those spots could be touched up or do the rims have to be completely re-chromed. If there is a method other than complete re-chroming, what is it and where might I be able to have it done?

I recently talked to "The Wheel Doctor" here in the Chattanooga area. He said that a chrome wheel has to be rechromed. The painted ones can be cured of curb rash and dings in the parking lot.
Sorry,
Jim

you can get them dipped just kind of costly, might just buy some more rims.

Yes there was one curb mishap that is barely noticeable on the edge of one rim. For the most part, there are only a couple little VERY unnoticeable spots of corrosion. I mean you really have to get up close to see them. Something only I would really notice cause I wash them. They're honestly nothing big and really not worth spending the money to have them refinished. I think they are the results of being a Florida car and being in a highly salty weather environment. I bought the car in Tampa.
I was just checking just in case somebody knew of something simple and inexpensive yet not "cheap" or too ghetto.

chrome dipping done right is expensive in general~ they might could sand blast the rim then dip it... but what if it didnt match due to their system being different.. you might have to get all 4 done lol
