yeah i always thought the 2.8L ended in '78 with the mustangII and that after that all you had from 79 to 93 was either a 2.3L I4, a 2.3L I4 Turbo (SVO) and a 5.0 V8 for the LX/GT.
There was also a 4.2 liter V8 offered in 79-83 or 84.
I have the EFI version of his 2.8, it's a 2.9 in the truck. They aren't just sloppy slow..but definitely in need of power. The aftermarket for these engines doesn't exist either. You can get longtubes, maybe a cam if you can find someone to do a custom grind. Not much more unless you start swapping parts from different cars.

Im talkign about the 3.8s back in the day that made 100hp. I have owned two 3.8L mustangs a 97 and a 01 and I have been on the v6 scene since it started good back in 97 the new 3.8s have great potential its just a matter of a bit of money to build them so they can take boost, with the stock levels on your turbo you should see some good number regardless though.
