Mis-Firing after cleaning...

I sprayed down my engine today with a little degreaser and VERY lightly rinsed off with the water hose. Now, the car is mis-firing a little when I'm getting on the throttle hard in 2nd and 3rd. Anybody think I did permanent damage to a plug or coil pack or maybe something else?

sounds like you messed up a coil pack on top of one of your cylinders to me, dont use water on it. Clean it by hand every week and it wont get dirty enough to need water. If thats not it you can check your maf

Think the coil pack is toast? How will I know which one and are u referring mass air flow when u say "maf". Just making sure.

you have individual coils per plug, at least I think all 99+ do (i know 01 up does) and one of those might be out~ but it should do it ALL the time not just at a given rpm, it is worse when you get going more but it should be missing if its not working you can pull them and see which one makes it worse lol and you can find the one that is bad perhaps.
By MAF I mean the mass air flow sensor, but its probably fine if it runs at all.

Using water is fine... I spray my motor down all the time and have no problems. On the old cars it was bad to do cause they didnt water proof all the connections. Now all the electrical connections have rubber seals to keep water out. Its fine to do.

maybe there is water down in the plug galley grounding out the plug

+1, they're just about vertical, and like to hold water... pull the coil packs out, check to see if they're wet on the base...

Well, I drove it around for a while last night to give it a chance to try to let some of the water evaporate. Let it sit overnight and drove it this morning. All is well now. My guess was a damp coil pack or water down in the plug galley. Either way, my baby is back to normal.  Now, maybe I can find another Vette to smoke today cause I killed one on the way to work this morning.

Water gets down around the plug and causes the misfire problem. That was definitely what your problem was.

Or 1 of the coils got wet it happens all the time. most of the time coils are mounts where water wont get to them so when it does they tend not to like it and will cause a miss
