My brothers girlfriend of 7 years father passed away, we knew him quite well and it was really unexpected. So you know, it's a sad time and it's been hard on the family. THEN we left the funeral home, and was on our way to the cemetary. The procession (not sure if that's how you spell that one) was really long and I know that gets tiring for the other traffic in and around town, but I was truely saddened and annoyed to tell you the truth, when over and over again cars where randomly passing the line going to the cemetary. Is there no respect left? I myself always make a point to pull over. But there were ppl actaully PASSING the hurst! Just venting, it made me really sad.

^ yeah.. I was gonna say that...
my family and I always make a point to pull over for funerary processions. I mean really... it's the last trip they'll ever make.. give them respect.

when my aunt passed well over 1000+ people showed up to the funeral so needless to say it was a long procession. thank god for my stepdad he got his officers to help with it and had one at each intersection to let us all go through

Processions here are cop escorted...all intersections are stopped along the way...pass the procession = you get pulled over and ticketed.
You need to move to the south.

You hardly ever see that around here, but I did see it on my way home from college one day. Some asshole in a Honda S2k sped up and cut in front of the lead car.
Pretty fucked up if you ask me. I turned down the next street so they'd have a clear road.

if some one (on purpose) cuts in front of or doest something like this to disrespect them they should be pulled over and put in jail for about 15 days and charged with a felony, I am sure it happens by mistake (somehow )but some just dont care (notherners generally)

yeah, it happens. I've never seen it happen, cause Iowa is pretty courteous, but I'm sure it happens. When we were going with my grandpa to the cemetary, everyone pulled over... and it was on a highway (since he was buried in the military cemetary and that's not in his hometown).

when my father passed, we had about a 30 car procession and we had three motorcycle officers for it. one bitch kept trying to go around us and one of the officers pulled off and stopped her for a long time allowing even traffic not in our procession to pass her. a little spite from that officer. that was one of the only things that my brother and i were able to laugh about that day. but we were just amazed at the nuts on some people.

That type of deal doesnt have to do with being in the south or north or west
its just on the individual asshole, cause as you said our processions in CT are cop escorted as well

You get ticketed? I didn't know it was "technically" illegal. I'm glad they do it though!! Those fuc kers. My wife and I both stop for anything with flashing lights going by. I can't stand Mrs. Soccer Mom on the cell and her fu cking suburban are driving along obliviously(word?) and there is an ambulance with lights and siren on behind her, and she just keeps on blocking the path. All I can think about when I see that and I'm by myself, is that could be my parents/friends/family/etc. that they could be on their way to save and this bit ch is stopping them from getting there any sooner. In columbus, when Brandy(my wife) was doing some on the job training with the EMT's people would be in their way and a cop would be nearby and could do nothing about it because you "legally and technically" don't have to pull over out of the way of any emergency vehicle. I know if I were the cop, I'd ticket there ass for careless driving--you know, the ticket that a cop writes when he can't legally find anything else you did wrong so he writes a "general" ticket.
Sorry to clutter up your thread, and I'm really sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and your family.

you guys have funeral processions?
our hursts dont have lights on them, nor are they ever escorted. its just another waggon with a dead body in back to me  ill pass it all the same.

Well, I'd have to say we are a tad more religious in the south(there is a reason we are called the "bible belt") than over in Cali and maybe up north. Plus, we are more curteous, statistically speaking.

i can't find my traffic ticket book, but i'm about 100% sure that its ticketable if you cut into a procession.
