Gt hood scoop on my v6 hood?

Can anyone pleasr tell me if the gt scoop will fit on my V6 style hood?My hood looks the same as the gt hood minus the scoop. nd where is a good place to get one at a good price?  |

hmm, i dont think it will cuz the 6er has like a cut-out/hole type of thing. might just have to buy a gt hood.

Yup it will fit, ive installed two on v6s one was a 99 and one was an 01. if you have a 01 up the install is MUCH easier for you. I can tell you how to do it and as far as where to get one... just have to look around or pay for a new one. They used to be cheap as crap (100 bucks pre painted is what I got mine for my old car for) but now they are more than that. Maybe 100 used.
You have to drill into your hood BUT if you do it right its not an issue. You make a template. If you have an 01 the two back holes are premarked.

I've always wondered why they made the V-6 more aerodynamic than the V-8. The hood and side scoops are big air blockers. But yes the scoops do fit on the V-6 hood

Guess they figured the V8 would just muscle its way and not need the aerodynamics part...

I put one on my hood, nothing to it man.
As far as where to find it you need to look around on sites and ebay and such. You'll come across one.

the scoops really dont make much of a difference in drag the air get blocked by the scoop and the moving air goes over it.

since yours is a 00 model it will require a bit more work to get it on, but not a ton. Basically you dont have a starting point to put the template so unless you can get a really good template you will have to find a car with the scoop installed and do a good bit of measuring and such.
Let me know before you go to put it on, ill go over the install and help however I can so you will not screw up something or what not when you put it on.

I would expect 100~ for painting it just depending on the place etc etc maybe less.

I found a company drivenvisions.com that has the scoop for ninty bucks. they said it is identical to the stock scoop except for it mounts with four bolts instead of six.

If I remember right the 99 model mustang 35th anniversary edition only mounted with 4 bolts but the scoop was a bit smaller.
The regular 01+ gt scoop has two guide pins (worthless) and then one bolt in the front middle, two bolts in the back and one on each side (angled bolts aka PITA to drill for)
