The passenger side of my car has started to squeak when I go over any small bump, also when I turn the wheel it starts to squeak. Kind of sounds like your dragging rubber over clean metal. I think the cause of this is from the accident I had 4 months ago where I hit a guardrail with my passenger side around 15-20 mph after treacherous oversteer. Does this sound like this will hold any water, if I have to replace the strut should it clear up the steering problem you think?
I have a feeling the squeaking while steering is coming from my system's power wire going through the grommet on the column. It sounds like it is rubbing on the metal and the insulation is making it squeak.
(never mind the wire doesn't go out that grommet, I was thinking my Honda...)

I dont know but I have a bad passenger side ball joint and I think my squeeking is coming from there. Check on the bottom of your Kmember where the steering pieces are and see if anything is showing or looks worn. Just guessing since I cant see or hear it.

I have the same exact problem. It's so annoying it happens when I accelerate and the weight shift back, when I break and the weight goes to the front and when I make a turn. I also hit a guardrail while trying to steer around a dog. I thought I needed some wd40 but I wanted to ask for any suggestion of area I should look at.

I am thinking Bullitt handling Kit if its the struts, I was under there changing my oil soon after posting. All the bushings that I can see look like they are in pretty decent shape. The squeak happens when I push down on the passenger side, on the down stroke doesnt squeak on the way back up. hmm

We used to have a frequent problem with this on the 99+ mustangs, not sure if the older ones had the same issue -> The bushing and/or the metal sleeve for the bolt to the steering rack, usually on the passenger side, would tend to creak (squeak/etc)

Is this something I should take care of right away? ie is it dangerous? I dont exactly have 400 bucks for the bullitt kit.

Dude if I were to meet you and have you diagnose my car you would pick it apart slowly and reveal problems I didnt even know I had.
I guess it couldnt hurt though, you can maybe tell me if you think it is my timing chain or lifters that are ticking too.
