Some idiot quickly backed up in my high school parking lot right when i was about to pull forward. I quickly threw it into reverse(auto) and floored it. The tires squealed and the back end launched downward with a lot of force. It seemed to jounce rapidly. The car did move backwards. IS my rear end all torn up now? It didn't feel too good.

Are you having problems with the car acting weird now?
I say if the car is not making weird noises and acting up now, then don't worry about it too much.

i think u should be fine. i used to do that once in a while just as i came to a stop. its just the tires breakin loose and grabbin again. plus ur goin forward with momentum and basically just pull the opposite way w/o stoppin in between, so of course ur gunna get a huge jolt/downward force/jounce(w/e that word means). so it should be fine, but keep an eye n ear out for things that might have changed bcuz of it.

well this really has nothing to do with reverse but I thought id ask. How bad is it to chirp the tires in second when you are racing?

I don't think you'll have that problem without a lot of mods...
My regal chirps into second...

If you are doing it by shifting it manually..you are causing premature wear in the transmission. At the least I'd get a tranny cooler (like 35-40 bucks) and run that to keep some of the excess heat off the tranny.

O sorry, didn't pay attention to who was posting. Uhm...the only thing I can see you hurting is possibly breaking the rear end and tearing up a synchro if you don't catch the gear correctly.
The 7.5 inch rear end from the factory is built without a locking differential, meaning all the power goes to one axle. This means you have more power going to that one axle than nearly any production mustang in history has going to a single axle. If you catch the gear hard enough, there is a chance of breaking the axle, leading to a rebuild of the rear end.
Not saying you're gonna break the rear end next time you do it, but there is always that chance. There are a ton of parts on my car that should have broken by now, but, the car keeps going and I'm breaking parts that shouldn't be breaking.
