Hi. The name is Johnny and I live in Southern California. Right after I graduated high school in 1989 I made the grand decision to take my fairly limited knowledge of auto mechanics and try to change a straight 6 automatic into a 289 manual. Alas, the experiment didn;t work out and I sold the 1964 1/2 Mustang.
Just today, I bought a 1964 1/2 Mustang with a rebuilt 289 in it. Thus - Back in the saddle... So to speak.

Welcome! My wife had a '66, and took out the 289 auto and put in a 302 with a T5. It's definately possible, especially with all the conversion kits out there!
