Sorry if this has been posted before, but I can't seem to find a topic about it. So if I missed it please post a link.
Anyway, I'm looking into getting a 99 or 01 Cobra to swap the motor and tranny into my 02 V6. I'm just looking for any good info on this, or any good write ups if they have been done.
Also if you guys have any good info on swapping the 03 and 04 Cobras as well. Probably won't be able to get one, but I might luck out.

Here's the thing, I really can't afford to buy a cobra, Insurence is too high and not to mention my credit kinda sucks. I'm going to be getting a wrecked cobra. I got a guy who rebuilds totaled Mustangs. So I'm looking at $1000-$3000 for the entire car.

I hate to burst your bubble but if you dont tell the insurance company that you put a V8 into your car when you are in an accident they will drop you and you wont get a dime plus they wont cover you if the other car files a claim against you. That means you will basically be screwed. Its a major hassel to swap the engine over, if you have a donnor car its much easier but still... not fun.

insurance isn't really the big deal here...
honestly, if it was a restomod or even a latemodel fox.. i'd say go for it.. but why the hell would you even bother when you could still just BUY a great condition 02 cobra?!?
you'd spend just as much making the swap happen, and doing it the right way... that is if you include your valuable time, then when you were done you'd have a car with no equity
just doesn't make sense my friend... you want cheap v8 performance just buy and old ragged out v8 something, throw some heads on it and do liability only insurance... wammo! fun young times!

or just buy a built 4.3L v6 and swap in your car, much easier and good power too.........that should tie you over until you can actually buy something faster. its a direct swap too
in addition to a new motor you will also need to take the computer and all the wiring from that cobra in order for it to work in your car
