Ok - Hertz, the rental-car company, raised the hair on a lot of necks when it announced a year ago that it would rerun its genius business scheme of four decades ago, wherein 1000 specially prepared ’66 Shelby GT350 Mustangs were purchased and then rented to enthusiasts and the star-struck for hefty premiums. The car was called the Shelby GT-H (for Hertz), and it gained the company a ton of publicity, but not all of it favorable, as it turned out. Soon stories were told with sniggers about cars that had been rented and then raced, and how choice performance parts were flying off the GT-Hs and finding their way into more humble Mustangs.
Anyone know of someone (unless it was you) who's done something like this? Or done this exact same thing? Let me know, this is an interesting story |

Yes...I do know of several that have rented and raced the GT-H. However, since the stories are all public, I will leave it up to you to use google to find them. However, you will be happy to know, they have been found out...and did have to make amends for it.
BTW...kinda like Herb said....quite and interesting first of 4 posts. |

i steal a gt-h a week, why take the parts when u can have the entire car?? then i drive it across country smuggling drugs from here to cali all the while i am prostituting myself for more money and more drugs.
i also commit hate crimes during my journey. hate crimes against cars that i hate.
and if you believed any of what i just typed, then you are in serious need of getting your head checked.

Ok - My director told me he heard of this story and wanted to use it for our portal, so I was basically looking for general information on the subject. I'm not a cop, I'm in advertising. The e-mail from my boss is attached below:
There was a great story about a guy who rented a GT-H from Hertz and took it to Mustang rallies, winning awards, and then ran into a deer. I dunno how to find that story.
Let's get this distributed in some manner to the creative and digital folk soon.

I once rented a Chevy Something-or-other one time, if that counts for anything. I really don't know any stories of what you are asking about.
