One other question...I have seen other posts talking about removing the silencer while doing a cold air intake. My car came to me with a K&N cold air setup. What is the silencer and is there a how-to on removing the silencer?

air silencer(Stock paper filter) If you have a K&N setup and filter It maybe done all ready

i though the autos are 2.93's

btw the silencer is part of the stock airbox assembly. its that snorkel looking tube that leads to the more rounder part of the whole clusterfuck. if you have a k&n open element (basically a cone floating in the air) or the k&n kit you dont have to worry about any of that unless you ever have to worry about smog.

wow yall are off lol all 99-04 GT mustangs ahve 3.27 gears out back. The air silence is a rubber peice that sits on the stock mustang air filter housing and pokes into the fender. It does little good to remove it. If you have an aftermarket CAI then you dont have one (unless you have just a drop in filter and nothing else)

ford didnt stagger the gear in 99+ they are the same (v6, gt, cobra, etc) you didnt have a choice as to what ratio you wanted.
