2V or 4V???

Which mustangs come with the 2V, and which Mustangs come with the 4V engines? I have some guys in the car club confussing me on this???????

the 96-98 GT mustangs had the 2v 4.6L engine
the 96-98 Cobra mustangs had the 4v 4.6L engine
The 99-04 GT mustangs had the 2v 4.6L engine
the 99-04 Cobras had the 4v 4.6L engine
the 03-04 Mach 1 mustangs also have the 4v 4.6L engine

if its a 4.6L GT 96-2004 its a 2v.
if its a bullitt, its a 2v
if its a 4.6L GT 05+ its a 3v
if its a 4.6L Cobra 96-04 its 4v
if its a Mach1 its a 4v
if its a Shelby GT500 aka Rebadged 07 SVT Cobra, its also a 4v

And every Mustang built before 1996 has 2 valve pushrod engines...I'm pretty sure I'm right, does anyone know if a Boss 429 is a 2 valve motor.

lol i dont know, maybe they made a 1v version where one valve handles both the intake and exhaust gases, and the gases just choose if they want to in or out based on their mood and the moons proximity to the earth.

Yes they were all 2V. Even the NASCAR motor Ford made that was a SOHC in the 60's was also a 2V.
Don't be confused though when some people say 2V and 4V intake. All that means is 2V equals two barrels one for each for a 2 bbl carb and 4v intake was a 4 barrel intake one for each. The heads, however, are all 2V.

I'm not trying to nit pick, but the Shelby has a 5.4 liter not a 4.6. Thought i'd just mention that.

umm, i dont recall mentioning the displacement on the GT500, but yeah, its a 5.4L
