hi guys, i just got a 2004 V6 3.9L charcoal grey stang for my graduation present to myself = ). been hearing some things about it and wondering if anyone would help.
first problem: Governor: 1.) what the shit does it top out at, and 2.) how much will it cost to get it taken out.
3.) Flowmaster's sound good? getting some this weekend
4.) which type of custom headlights/taillights would you suggest for the charcoal grey color
5.) what are some of the cheaper mods to put in to increase my hp/torque
6.) what is my hp and torque at right now if anyone knows.
everything as far as i know is purely stock.

First off welcome to the site. Glad to see you're enthusiastic about your newly acquired car.
Since you are new to the stang scene, I'd recommend checking out this thread first:
When modding a car from the start: (order of mods list for best results!!!)
To your questions:
1)It tops out at 113.5 (your speedo will read 115).
2)In order to remove the governor you will need a chip or tuner.
3)Exhaust is all a personal opinion. It will, however, sound better than stock.
4)I'd suggest exactly what you have on there right now.
5)Check out the thread I linked to.
6)160hp 163tq

for #3: i agree. personally i have true dual flows on mine and i think it sounds great.
for #6:  is that rwhp? from the crank it claims 198 i believe. cause if that's from the crank, i say again...

They claim like 193 hp 205 tq at the crank from the factory on the 3.9.
Go ahead and factor in the 15-20% loss through the tranny and rear end and you are looking at what... 163hp 175tq.
I'm gonna stick by my numbers.

those are rwhp numbers... and if I might make a suggestion from a guy that's been there... don't spend a shit ton of money trying to make it fast... cause in a couple years, when you can afford the GT, you may want to go that route. They are a FUCKING BLAST.

welcome
i think smoked headlights with clearcorners look good. As for tailights, some tint if that's your thing...and some sequencers is the best looking tailights there are imo. Avoid euros/altezzas or whatever you call them if you want the opinion of most here i believe.
