Just look for one that you think looks good. You aren't gonna see any more gains from a more expensive or name brand one.

Are you looking for chrome or just a black finish? I had a MAC chrome CAI on my 01 and it worked good. None of them really give morethen 5-6hp and 3-4tq so I went for looks. The filter on my 01 was in the fender as well and it was harder to get to to clean~ but not to bad.
I would get a filter you can rinse out with water and let dry that you dont have to re-oil as they get the maf sensor nasty and can cause idle issues and such. (after you reoil you need to clean the maf sensor after a couple days and then a couple weeks with electronic on contact NO residue cleaner)
The 3.9 should work fine, on 99-00 the IAT sensor is external to the maf on the 3.8L and on 01+ the IAT is internal to the maf which basically means you will have a hole that needs pluged if you buy a universal 99-04 v6 CAI~ not a big deal just FYI if you wonder what goes in the hole near the maf~
I think mine was 160 or so~ it was good quality, dont go ebay they are extremly poor quality.

I have the MAc on my 3.9 works and looks great .Like spector said the fender well mount can be a slight pain in the ass when it comes time to clean and oil the filter But not to bad !! although this week end I did take a hack saw to the CAI and cut the 90 out so the filter is now inside the engine bay gonna make a little sheet metal heat shield and brace

its much easier than my current setup, you can reach up and remove the filter from the underside of the bumper, on mine you have to remove the front bumper or the inner fender

the only thing i can say about chrome is that u have to constantly clean it unless u want to have spots on it, for practicality reasons, i would get the black and avoid chrome
