Welcome.
The clicking sounds like you might have a cracked exhaust manifold. The 99-04 V6s are notorious for this. A lot of times you can just look through the engine bay and see the crack.
The headlight problem sounds like a possible short in the wiring. Don't know what to tell you there if you aren't used to working with electrical stuff. They can be a pain to chase down. You may be better off taking it somewhere to have it checked out.
As far as visual mods go, nothing makes a car look better than a nice clean set of rims and a drop.
As far as performance... well, performance is never cheap.
Maybe a set of gears though?

welcome.
first of all i'd fix the basics before trying to get into the other stuff. If it was just something little, that'd be one thing, but the fact that the issues are with the headlights and the engine, i'd definately not ignore them.
as far as mods, i'd start with exhaust and perhaps an intake. but...seriously think about the car and if you hope to keep it and want to put money into it, go for it. If you hope to have a lot of power in a car, i would not put too much into the v6...however, many on this site have turbo'd their sixers with great results power wise. It's all about what you prefer but don't go spending a ton of money the car without a plan for it...b/c you will end up with a lot less money and possibly wanting to sell your car to upgrade to a gt/cobra/whatever..and you won't get nearly what you put into it and it will not have been worth it.

My car sat for a few years and when i came home it had a few issues like the one you are discribing with the head lights. What i did was take the cover off the steering column (just behind the wheel) and removed the turn signal switch, i took some rubbing alcohol and cleaned all the old electronics grease off of the connection points and put some fresh on there. I have had no further issues since last july. Just a thought.
