I despise Boxer

Quote:
UPDATE: Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (CA) told reporters after the regular, weekly meeting of her Caucus, that the VA Tech shooting had been discussed but that no substantive conversation had taken place on any possible legislatiave remedies.
Boxer told reporters it's time to consider gun control measures, however, and that she's talking to her fellow California Democrat, Diane Feinstein, about a bill Feinstein is crafting to limit the number of bullets in a gun clip. This is a portion taken straight from the now-expired Assault Weapons Ban which previously outlawed clips with more than 10 bullets.Boxer added that another piece of legislation she co-authored with Colorado Democratic Senator Ken Salazar, former state Attorney General during the Columbine shootings, should be considered. This bill would "provide funding for schools through the Justice Department to improve school safety measures such as tiplines, surveillance equipment, and capital improvements to schools," according to an office press release. Boxer noted that this bill would not help on college campuses, however.
Senate Judiciary Cmte Chairman Patrick Leahy (VT) said his committee would hold hearings on the VA Tech shooting, but, "It's way too early to talk about legislation."
Freshman Democratic Senator Jon Tester (MT), himself a 2nd Amendment advocate, called any talk of gun control measures "way, way, way too insensitive and way, way, way too premature." Gun rights advocate, Sen. Larry Craig, R-ID, lashed out at those who would call for gun control as a result of the VA Tech shooting, calling it "political opportunism." Craig went on, "I've always believed in nations wher the greatest of human freedoms exist, sometimes the greatest of human abuses can occur. And there are those who are trying to leverage the greatest of human tragedies now."

Yes...because we all know guns kill people....people don't.
Hell, I had to chase down a couple of 45s the other day to prevent them from going on a rampage.

all gun control would do is make non-law abiding citizens have guns and all the people who obey the law not have them. Hmm, i wonder, would there be fewer or more robberies etc, if the outlaws know the good people don't have guns and they do due to a black market
not that you guys didn't already know that

If one of the students in the room would have had a gun also, a lot fewer people would have died.

I thought about this too. College Campuses forbid guns. Makes it even more appealing for some psycho.

Why is it always the commies from my state that initiate this stuff. If Clinton gets elected, God help us, our guns will go bye bye.

FUCKING RIGHT!!!!!!!! I literally said the same thing at work yesterday. Except when I shot him, I would have started at the ankle and worked all the joints before he bit the bullet.
How many times must it be said...........
"If guns kill people, then I can blame misspelled words on my pencil"

I'd say not in Mississippi either, but we in the south keep our guns hanging on the back window or behind the seat. . Now the city schools, that's another story.

I know in Arizona pretty much any citizen can legally carry a gun on their hip. But I'm not sure about Mississippi.

All you need is a gun and permission from local law enforcement.
CCW LIMITS
May police limit carrying concealed handguns? No
State law forces police chiefs and state sheriffs to give concealed carry permits (CCW) to anyone who can buy a handgun, allowing them to carry loaded, concealed handguns in public (known as ?shall issue?). Police may not even require safety training in the legal or safe use of weapons for CCW applicants. State law allows residents of some other states to carry concealed weapons in this state without informing local police.
I'm surprised how lenient the laws are. I didn't realize just how LAX the laws are.

Hells yeah. My wife shot her first gun when she was 8. Her dad sat her on a bucket and used a table to support the 30 .06 (thirty ought[sp?] six) rifle. She fired it and the gun kicked her backwards and she fell off the bucket. My dad wasn't near that cool .

yea here in VA you can cary a loaded gun on your hip with no permit but in order to conceal it you have to apply for a permit through the court and the judge has to approve it im in the process of doing that now before they start cracking down
