Very pretty car.
I have one question, what does 4 valve mean on a 289. I have heard stuff like either Cleveland, or Windsor 3, or 4 Valve, but I don't know what that means as they both have 2 valves per cylinder.

2V or 4V on a carburated car usually isn't talking about the number of valves per cylinder. The "V" is short for venturi, which is the shape of the barrels in the carb. A venturi is the part of the barrel that narrows and then widens again in order to increase air velocity. It also creates a vacuum effect that sucks in fuel through the jets.
So essentially, it means either a 2 barrel or 4 barrel carb.

You LUCKY DAWG! That is one sweet ride. The one that started it all in 64'. Those are the wheels that I'd like to put on my 68' someday. Take care of her!

I was two seconds away from quoting myself.
+1. I wanted to say something about the 4 "v" as well.
And because I want to be an asshole for a second, I can't fucking stand when people get their hands on a car like that and know hardly anything about it. [/side rant]

Why do people put Shebly/Cougar tailights on a coupe? Shelby's were only made in 'verts and fastbacks. I like the stock taillights better anyway.

Yeah, I hear ya Bullitt. I like regular 67, 68 tail lights too....BUT, this car came from the factory like this. I didn't add the T-Bird tail light panel and other stuff. Everyone knows Shelby did a "vert and fastback", but did anyone know Caroll Shelby experimented with a coupe also? It never made it into production, but a Shelby coupe prototype was built in 1967. I've seen pictures of it. It was Candyapple red with a black vinyl top and all of the other Shelby stuff like scoops and fiberglass deck lid, big block engine, ect. It was called "Lil' Red". In late 1967, the California sales district wanted a "special" car of their own to help boost sales like Colorado did in 66, 67, and 68. Colorado's "special" version was called "High Country Special." It was sold only in the Colorado DSO. It had a badge on the front fenders with it's identity on it. But other than that, it pretty much looked like a regular Mustang. The bosses at Ford were impressed with Caroll's Lil' Red, and disapointed that he chose not to persue it. So, Ford decided to dress up a regular Mustang to be very similar to Lil' Red and see if California liked the package. They did, and the "California Special" was born. For those in the know about this "GT/CS" package, there were only 4,125 units made. All were built in 1968 only. All came from the San Jose plant as indicated in the first three digits of the vin number. And lastly, all were coupes. No verts or fastbacks were built. The California Special came with the following: Fiberglass rear deck lid with "duck tail" spoiler, Shelby end caps, Shelby tail light panel, 1964 Thunderbird tail lights (non sequential), Fiberglass non functional side scoops, California Special script emblems on the rear quarter panels, GT/CS stripe kit, special "Push and twist" style hood locking pins (carried over to the 69' Shelby), Lucas driving lights mounted in front of the grill, not in it as the Shelby's did. The car was made with all engine and drive line combinations from the 200 ci. six banger all the way up to the monster 428 FE. All standard paint colors for 68 were used for this package, but only three stripe colors were used. White, Black, and Red. Today, you can order from any Mustang parts book a GT/CS stripe kit in any color including Scotch Brite Reflective (like mine). And, while I'm up on my soap box, the "special" package theme even carried on into 1970 when the Kansas DSO asked for their own car. The result was a Golden/Yellow 70' fastback with a "tornado with a set of eye's" sticker on the rear quarter. Beneth it was the name "Twister Special". These are rarer than my car. Not sure how many were built. Ford continued the special theme cars with the BOSS 351's & 429's, Mach1's, ect. Now days we have Saleen, Rousch, Steeda, ect. Thanks for letting me get that out for those interested. Mike
