what do you guys recomend for a resonbaly priced exhuast system double or single x pipe or y pipe

Borla or Bassani are usually expensive kits so you can probably rule them out. Flowmaster is generally cheap but the power gains are not as high as with other brands. You should try to stay with stainless steel.

Check out SLP, everyone says they make LS1's sound like trucks... but they do that regardless of what exhaust system they use.

I can only speak from experience with the single exhaust. I just wanted it to breath easier so I put on a single GT take-off. I bought the pair of take-offs for $75 plus shipping. Should I decide later to go with duals all I have to do is buy the pipes and drivers side hangers.

There isn't a whole lot of preformance gain in going duals with the S197 V6. I'd stick to the single, Flowmaster, JBA, SLP's, ford racing(made by borla) and upgrade either CAI/tune or gears!

JBA makes a nice set for the v-6. I got the true duals and it made the car sound and perform much better. They als have a y pipe variety.The make it in all stainless or stainless tips on the exhaust only. I had a shop put the system on for me and tack weld the joints along with theclamps supplied.

i know this thread is old but wanted to chime in on it i just put on a mac single exhaust i got off e bay from a guy who had it for a month an his wife said it was to load i think it sounds great an my wife loves it
