i'm looking to upgrade my brakes, possibly to cobra brakes---any suggestions? any idea where to get cobra brakes? (i have 17" wheels so cobra would work cause they would clear the caliper)
any suggestions would be helpful

I want to get the cobra front kit with the 13 inch rear kit for mine....
It's pricey, but god it looks good and stops well.

If you want to keep 17" wheels, you can't beat the Cobra brakes. If I remember correctly, Latemodel Restoration Supply - America's #1 Restoration and Performance Parts Warehouse used to have them pretty cheap. I checked around a couple of places and the prices seemed to vary just a little. For example, one place would have the red Bullitt style calipers cheaper, but the other place would have the 40th Anniv. style cheaper.
Just be sure to buy some decent rotors too. I'd recommend the Powerslot rotors. They are cadium plated so they won't rust and will last longer than a zinc coating.
I believe Summit Racing also carries both of these parts and they have "free-ish" shipping.

X2 I'm with Blue. <--- That kind of rhymd.
Same kit, better price.
BuyFordRacing.com
I'm probably going to add these in a few months after I do my suspension work. It is a very worthy upgrade IMO.
Regular Cobra brakes with good pads will give you much better stopping distance than you already have though.

yea those will do the job, but you need the rotors and you have to have 17 inch wheels (you do just an fyi)
for that kind of money you can get nearly any set of front calipers, not just black. You can do mach1s without the cobra word or red ones etc etc (bullit ones)

Yea, they just bolt right up to the 13 inch rotor. I would get my rotors coated to prevent rust, if its to late for that spray paint them very good with rustoleum in silver to keep the rotor from rusting. Dont freak out if you get the paint on the part the pad touches, Try not to but dont worry~ just tape it up kind of good. The rotor will be clean in a couple brakes when you get them on the car.

If you need rotors....the cobra rotors are $180 for all 4 and $160 for GT/V6 rotors from ROTORPROS - Home Page ... This is shipped for all 4 corners.
So, if you find the cobra kit without rotors...you can get those for a damn good price...
I have them on my cobra...they are great. No problems in the 2 months they have been on. Kyle just put them on his V6...no problems in the 2 days they have been on. I intend to put them on the GT shortly as well. These plus Hawk pads = grippy mo fos...

On my buick, no more brake dust than was usual..
With the Hawk HPS pads and powerslot rotors, my regal stops as well as my rustang GT with stock brakes did... which, sad to say, is a huge improvement over stock haha
