'98 A/C Cluth Issue

Okay, so a few weeks ago I was driving down the road, and my A/C went out. Well, it's been a few years so I figured it needed some R134a. So I go buy a few cans, and my dad hooks up the system, and the A/C clutch wouldn't kick on. So we break out the test light, and we are getting power at the low pressure switch. On down the harness, we test the plug that is going into the A/C compressor, and guess what? No power what so ever.

So where do I need to start? I keep reading stuff about the CCRM, but I don't think that's it because I would have a lot of other problems as well if that was bad. Is there any other switch or relay before it reaches the compressor clutch?

Just so I get the facts straight....Did you test it at the plug coming off the harness or the "female" end that it plugs in to?
Also is it possible that the coils in the compressor are worn to the point where it won't hold enough magnetism and kick in?

One thing I would try is to have the car running and using a long screwdriver or similar shaped solid object, push on the compressor and try to make it engage yourself. Now of course you dont want your face hovering over the compressor because if it does engage it can give your hand a bit of a kick.

If that doesn't work then maybe we can keep trouble shooting it and figure it out.

Yea, I grabbed a test lightm hooked it up to the negative end of the battery, and then test the female end that plugs into the A/C compress with the system on Max A/C and blowing all the way hight, it got no power.
