67 vin?

I just picked up a 67 coupe.It's passed through a few hands without being registered.I pulled the dash cover off but I don't see the vin tag or even the holes where a tag would go.Is it supposed to be under the pad?

It's on the driver side door.

I guess I'm screwed.There's no tag on the door,just the holes.Door is not original to the car anyway.

Check on the inner drive side fender apron. It should be stamped there as well.

if u need help on decoding it i got a nice book that can tell u stuff on it

The dash tag with VIN would be on the passenger side right where the dash meets the bottom of the windshield. It would be visible through the windshield if it wasn't removed. Hey Gearbanger, can you decode my data tag? It reads 65A 1 or I 2A 18U 72 6 1 or I. Thanks for any reply!

The passenger-side VIN was only on the '68 model year. '67's had NO dash plate, just the stamping on the fender aprons and on the door data plate.
