I just installed a Ford Racing King Cobra clutch, flywheel, cable, pressure plate, and throw out bearing and I took it out for the first test drive today...Once you get to the grab point when releasing the clutch pedal it kinda just wants to pop and go on you...It's almost as if there's not much play in the clutch, and you can't really feel when it's going to grab...Just seems like it grabs very fast and hard as if to launch the car from a normal start...I'm wondering if the clutch just needs to be broken in or if this is normal? I was told this is normal for any performance clutch in any car with power...And yes I'm new to the 12 second world haha.

That sounds like a normal king cobra clutch. They don't hold a ton of HP and they are very stiff. It should get a bit better but it will always be quick to grab like that. If you went from an OEM clutch to it I can see where you would wonder if its normal.

i drove a stang like that once with no power steering..kinda scarry for me...made me wanna shut the car off and push it into a parking space...lol..to go from an oem clutch to that, i guesse it would feel a lil unnerving.

The next time you swap it out, consider the Centerforce DF unit. Holds a good amount of power, and is not grabby at all.

Not a big deal, just a thought to keep in mind for the future.
