Is a 2-2.5 Ton jack good enough to lift the front of my car up safley? I just want to make sure it will be fine to use.

Since it will only be lifting about 1k pounds, it will be plenty. At least, my 2 ton jack is more than enough to lift the front or rear...in fact, it lifts them both at once if I place it on the side.

I think my issues is the handle is really short and makes for more work. It not a full size jack, one of those small ones that you take the handle off and turn a valve with to lower the car. It will do the job for what I need.

That's the same as mine for the time being...the one from walmart. It isn't that difficult really.
However, I need to get a new jack...one that will extend further under the car so I can get it on the sub frame connectors. Right now, it won't reach and still have the ability to jack.

thats what we're using on ours now... one on each side ... make sure you use jack stands though.. ours leak down fairly quick.

mine is a 2 ton jack, doesn't leak down/etc but I still use jackstands, its one of the best ways to support a car..
it lifts a LOT though without too much extra pressure needed? I've jacked up a corner of my cousin's RV with it without much fight...

Its not bad until it gets to its upper limits on how high it can raise the car and it gets a bit harder to jack up. I need to get it that high to get it on the jack stands.

I can't get mine on stands using my jack...it doesn't go high enough to get them under the subframe connectors.
I can get it high enough to put the stands elsewhere, but not for the SFCs.

Once I get SFC I wont be able to jack it up enough for stands I dont think. You could drive it up on some wood planks, but that wont work to good either. You will have to raise it up that much more to make the wheels come off of the wood planks (you could just pull them out I guess just a pita.)

I agree...and half tempting. Once I get a fully enclosed garage, I may build me one. I love to build shit anyhow...this would at least be useful.

thats how i get the GT up on jacks, gotta drive it onto a brick first to get me enough clearance to get the jack even under the car, and thats with mere c-springs. i cant imagine doing it with a good 1.5-2" drop like others with the roush kit have.
btw ive always wanted the nascar jacks, you know, stick it under, and one pump lifts the car up a foot or so.

That's what I am targeting as well....one that reaches well under the car as well so I can get on my subframes.
