Any mustang seat from 1979-2004 will fit your car and they'll be direct swaps with no mods needed (unless you want to run wires for power seats if you needed them). I'd recommend keeping your 1987 mounting brackets though because they'll get the seat to sit a little lower than the later year backets will.

I've got 2002 seats in my 83.

IMO, there is only one seat that i have sat in from a new edge car that has pleased me, and thats one from an 03 cobra... You could get a couple of em, but im sure they get pricy.

My advice would be to pick up a set of early GT Sport seats... Very nice looking, and one of the most comfortable and supportive mustang seats my chubby rump has sat in - ask bullitt482, i believe he has sat in my car. the svo seats are even better!

What color is your interior/exterior?

heres a few pics i just googled... there are many better ones floating around, and as soon as i find em, i'll post em, or maybe just take a couple shots of mine tomorrow.

Ignore the porno red color...

Ya I definitely have to agree that those halo headrest seats were incredibly comfortable. From 79-82 they were actually made by Recaro, after that from 83-85 (don't think the 86s had the halos) they were knock-offs made by Ford, but you couldn't tell the difference.

I've still got my 83 halo seats in the garage just because I would really like to get them recovered - the passenger's seat is nearly perfect, but the driver's seat is going to need some new foam if that's going to happen.

Awesome. I wanted leathers for my car as well but people wanted my left nut for them.
