Well... I just purchased a 98 Cobra engine today with only 2500 miles on it... yup 2500, not thousand.... so I guess I'll get a lil more horsepower there.... What's my best bet on a turbo or blower for the 98 Cobra engine? Oh, and can I use my TRANNY that's in my GT???

Congratulations.
Many options.
With a Turbo you have companies like Hellion, and HP that are good.
And there are many good SC kits. Vortech, Paxton, Procharger, and Kenne Bell all make very good kits for the DOHC motors. Also I've seen were you can get a kit to put the Eaton blower from the Terminators in them. Just keep the boost below 10 psi and get a good tune and you will love it and you will also have a very nice sleeper.
BTW 98 Cobra motors use a Teksid block, which is the best modular block every put in a Mustang from the factory.
I think so, but its not a direct swap. Cobras use a different clutch and flywheel, IDK about any other differences.

Why did you buy a low milage engine just to rebuilt/replace it lol. Also, why do you want to know if your tranny can be used with only 2500 miles is the transmission messed up?

^yea, wut he said...and under 10psi...i would think u could run that safely on just about any motor, under 10psi means very lil heat, so y change pistons and all that stuff if the milage is so low.

lol.... no, I meant can I use the STOCK TRANNY in my 98 GT. My car is a cobra clone in the making, right now it has the GT engine that's upgraded and the stock tranny... the piston question was because I wanted to set it up for nitrous. But... get this $hit, the as$hole that I baught it from in Minnesota, SOLD IT ON ME! I already paid for it, then he sold it to his neighbor cause he offered him 100.00 more! He refunded me but shit, I would have given him 2000.00 more!!!!! Now, I'm screwed... no more engine

you might want to search on the laws in the state the transaction was done... he may have broke the law on you and it may be time to let your lawyer send him a nice little letter.

You would have given 4500 hundred bucks for a USED 4V?????
Hell why not just buy a D.S.S. block(the less expensive one), and find some 4V heads if you have that kind of coin.

No, I wouldn't have paid 4500.00. He originally told me 1000.00. The neighbor gave him 100.00 more, that braught it to 1100.00. I would have paid 3100. The engine had only two thousand, five hundred miles on it and was 100 percent complete... even down thru the headers...

Ahhhh, my math owns me again. I read 2500 and somehow associated that with cost not mileage. <me
