Wheels and tires

So i have a 2004 and was thinking of puttin on either 17s or 18s and i want to make them look good with thin tires, but i dont want a rough ride. What size tires will make the rims look good and still ride smooth?

for a 17x8 rim go 245/45/17 or a 255/45/17 and for a 17x9 go with a 275/40/17

What if i wanted 18s? then what size would be good?

For a 18x9 go with some 275/35/18 (for a 8 wide a 265/35/18 might be a tad wide but it would be a good fit)''

remember different brands of tires run different in their size, there is no standard to how they measure them. Let us know what brand tire you are considering so we can see if its one that runs more small or larger.
