Hey guys this is the deal... when the clutch is released no matter whether I am accelerating or not there is a rattling noise, but when I push it down, the sound goes away... it basically only happens when the clutch is released, whether in gear or not, im pretty sure. but I was hoping someone could give me some info if it could be easy fix or big problem?
It sounds to me like a throw out bearing issue. Does the clutch have a good bit of flop in it when it is out aka you can lift up on it from the bottom or it takes a bit of pushing it in before it starts to go into neutral?
The throwout bearing is a very cheap part its just getting to it... you have to take out the transmission. You should also do a clutch swap while you are at it and change out the pilot bearing, check the input shaft play, and the bearing retainer sleeve for wear.
