I am picking up this Heep (literally) for $250 this week. Its an '88 Cherokee Wagoneer (wood paneling, HELL YES). Said the engine is blown, but other than that perfect mechanical condition (diff's, tranny, t-case, etc) and decent mechanical condition. The clear on the hood is cracking and there is a tear on the drivers seat. It comes with a bunch of extra parts (including seats).
I haven't decided what to do with it yet.
On the one hand, it has a better t-case than my '99. It also has differentials that match a set of lockers and gears sitting in my garage. I could swap out this stuff into my Jeep and it will become a very strong car.
On the other, I can rebuild the motor in the '88, stuff the lockers in it, do a junkyard 3 or 4 inch lift, do alot of cutting (no doors, chop the top, tons of trimming), and get some tires. Then I could have a fun, offroad capable DD as well as a beat-up trail rig that I could wreck, dent, bang, flip and couldn't care less about it.
I am leaning towards the latter, but once I get into the motor, that could change....
