You get what you pay for with gear installation, 9 times out of 10. A very reputable shop is the only place I'd have gears installed. Usually the reason why those guys are high, is because they don't leave you with gear whine, which can lead to premature failure of the rear end. I know they're expensive, but I'd probably use them anyway.

Where is that? Have a link to their site or a full name of the company?
bullit...yes you get what you pay for but in the case of MPH, I won't be. Their quote included a charge of $72....yes, SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS for gear lubricant. It takes a few quarts, not a 5 gallon bucket which is what I'd be paying for. There's plenty of reputable shops that charge alot but aren't listing outrageous costs such as that. Their total for labor alone (well plus the gear lube) was $550. That's WAY too much just to do gears and press bearings

Amazon ftw. They are in Anderson, SC. I believe their labor is $90 and hour.

You have to pay for good service. If you cut corners then you just have to pay it later down the road to have it once again redone (right). I had to learn that the hard way.

Ya but there are limits. It may be good service but it's still ridiculous to be paying $72 for lube. That in itself is an unjustified charge.

No, I think it's adjustable lube. Let's you switch from 3.55 to 4.10 with the press of a button.
