Bypass valve & Blowoff valve

Just have a quick question.....A bypass valve and a blowoff valve are these the same thing?I know my Vortech kit has a bypass valve , does this mean that it will have that psssssssssssst noise or is that a turbo thing?
oh yea , what is a wastegate? LMAO sorry I'M not the sharpest tool in the shed.....when it comes to my Mustang

lol its easier to think of it this way

its basically a vacuum controlled valve that re-routes a gas somewhere else. Wastegates are designed a bit differently than a blowoff or bypass valve, as they (wastegates) operate at far far higher temperatures than a blowoff or boost bypass valve.

ive never seen or heard one in person so i have the slightest. i will agree with you however, after having a turbo car before, the bov gets annoying after a week or two.

id venture to say that because boost is based on engine speed on a centri, that you likely wont hit boost in the daily commute, or wont be enough to be any loud sort of sound.

Under normal driving when engine vaum is high there is no boost. The by pass valve is open . Under load when the engine vacum drops the bypass valve closes and voila you have boost. Normal driving you don't notice anything at all

You dont see any sort of valve to drop boost on supercharged cars usually, why is this?

Because its belt driven?

No alot of folks dont mount them like the turbo crowd does.
