Pulled up to the house today and there sat my jlt cai. Took me all of about 2 minutes before i stopped the car opened the package and began the install. Let me just say, that JLT is a b!tch. But a very nice looking b!tch at that. took me about 2 hrs to install it. And for anyone else that gets one, it is IMPOSSIBLE to NOT scratch the painted tubes.
The second addition, was a 14 inch shorty black antenna. The anteanna comes with 3 multi-threaded screws for different model cars, and an extender piece for other models as well. Well I put it on, lock-tighted it and then decided to take it off to see if i used a wrong screw or didnt use the extender. When I was retightening it, the dam thing gave way and snapped the threads inside the car. So went to my stepdad, who has every tool known to man and we had to custom fab and re-tap the recepticle in the car. So long story short, I have a custom antenna setup.
Here are some pix.
New Additions
oh, and I am selling the stock intake if anyone is interested. I will put it up in the parts for sale area at a later time. lemme know if you know of anyone who might be interested.

WHen I got my CAI powdercoated and was ready to install, I wrapped it in newspaper and duct tape when I was putting it in, then just rip it off.

I didnt scratch my JLT but I went very slow. Its a great idea to wrap it in something as you install.

well i had a really hard time getting all 3 tubes to line up so all of the hoses and grommets fit right, so a little too much force on 1=scratches. but its really not bad at all. maybe you had a different motor mount position that made it a bit easier?

yeah ceran wrap or something before installing shiny parts.
btw id keep the stock stuff. you might not live in an emissions anal state........yet. cali shit standards will soon become federally mandated, and there will be a high demand for stock parts for people looking to buy back their stuff to pass inspection/sniffer. what will you make, ~$50 on the stock pieces? and when you might have to buy it back in a few years itll be ~150$ to buy someones used if there are any available, or ~400$ from the dealer (likely).

Appaarently in PA, around January, they passed a law to gaurd against people selling flood damaged vehicles. But instead of being smart about it they put ANY vehicle that has been modified from stock in the saem category as flood cars.
You now have to worry about being pulled over and a cop telling you your car is not stock and will require a special inspection/fee to use it.
I do not know the details but something to keep in your mind. We may be going the way of cali...

Enhanced Vehicle Safety Inspections
Act 228 of 2004 directed PennDOT to work with the “Specialized Vehicle Compliance Advisory Panel” to establish procedures and requirements for the inspection and titling of reconstructed, flood, specially constructed, recovered theft, collectible, modified vehicles and street rods.
Beginning January 1, 2007, only those safety inspection stations appointed and under contract with PennDOT as an Enhanced Vehicle Safety Inspection Station may inspect reconstructed, flood, specially constructed, recovered theft, collectible, modified vehicles and street rods for compliance with all applicable equipment and inspection rules for the purpose of titling the vehicle in Pennsylvania.
Only On-Line Business Partners will process title applications requesting a reconstructed, flood or reconstructed/flood title brand. PennDOT will not process these three application types.
All title applications for specially constructed, modified, collectible, recovered theft vehicles and street rods must be submitted to PennDOT for processing. Likewise, all applications for vehicles that require any type of title brand coming into Pennsylvania from another state or jurisdiction must be submitted to PennDOT for processing. The revised MV-426B (Rev. 12-06) application is available on this Web site and is to be used immediately.
