Need advise b4 I take it in.
Yesterday a/c working fine, today, blowing out heat and causing the engine to smoke.
Coolent added ever week just about, but its a slow leak somwhere when driven daily. (if that might have anything to do with it).
All I can think is that maybe the heating core - but no leakage in the front passener (which was the case in an older Mustang a while ago)
Radiator has not cracked.

A/C will not cause engine to smoke. nor will a busted heater core, if the heater core is leaking the windows will easily fog and get worse if you turn on the defogger, your carpet will also usually be moist, or collecting coolant.
your slow coolant leak sounds like a blown head gasket, check tail pipes for white almost cloudy smoke and moister.. smell exhaust in a very detailed mannor, if it smell sweet/muggy then its a head gasket.
LUK!

Got it, thanks.
However, I'm curious why the smoking engine & the A/C to cause only heat to blow out at the same time. It's beyond me but it cant be a coincidence!
Trying to sell it, dont need this

I would say the car was overheating.

Overheating, definately! Just unsure on possible root causes. A blown head gasket sounds about right concerning the loss of coolant, but there are no "puddles" in my drive way, and still coolant disapears. Do you think its possible to loose only when driving?
p.s.: when the A/C is immediately turned off, it stops smoking! But when I turn it back on only heat is released instead of cold air.
appreciate any imput.

The reason there is no puddle, is because the car is "boiling" it and spitting it out the exhaust.

OK..this is a really bizzare problem. First off..your AC has NOTHING to do with the engine. If your A/C blows hot...then either you lost the coolent or you compreser is shot....you blowing smoke...what kind of smoke...??? all the time???
IS this under normal driving?...just going down the road.....
your compressor will not turn on if you don't have the right amout of freon in it.
Your looseing coolent could be from the water pump..but could be from a head gasket.
If you had a gasket problem..it SHOULD show up all the time...not just when you turn on the A/C......
The really bizzare thing is if you turn on the A/C and your compressor( "DOSEN'T ) turn on...then there's no stress on the motor.....but for it to start to "smoke"....that's really bizzare.....
Need more info...

The A/C can cause the motor to smoke. The compressor could seize up, causing the belt to have to slip over it instead of the pulley turning. If it "catches" and "releases" it could also cause all of your other belt driven accessories to do weird things (including the water pump).
Sounds like you have a seized compressor.

well in that case the belt would be SCREEMING....which he did not say.
This some how, can be just a water pump type problem......and the water pump drops fuild on HOT parts..to create smoke????
This is all just a guess.... BUT if when turning on the A/C puts TOO much strain on the water pump......MAYBE it leakes.....and showes up as smoke......
this is just a wield guess....

Not in every case I had a A/C compresser seize up the belt slipped like a bitch. But didn't scream

I had one do it too and the belt never "SCREEMING"'d once.
They can slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch and slip and catch without ever really "SCREEMING".
