It depends on the car. A V6 Mustang won't get any noticeable power increase from a CAI.

Will..if it was me, I'd buy one just for the heck of it.
Just don't spend over 50-75 bucks...not worth that.
It does help clean the engine bay up some though

A huge plus one. You'll get some oomph, but not enough to really matter. It will however help with your gas mileage

Piece of advice, the ones on ebay will work fine. Just watch out for the "chrome" to come off after awhile. Might be worth it to just pick up a K&N if you like their look better.
It gives you a nice noise, I would say they are worth the 50-100 bucks.

kind of old thread but i'd suggest findin a used BBK CAI or any CAI in good shape used for cheap. I got my BBK CAI for under $50 shipped and it looks awesome. Not a mod to do if lookin for power though. Here some pics of mine.

buy one for looks and expect a bit better MPG and a bit different exhaust note. The power you get is really not noticeable but ... its something to do I guess.
