I'm hearing so many conflicting opinions and I want to narrow them down. I was gonna go with 3.73 but have alot of people saying I won't be happy unless I go with 4.10. Car is a '99 Saleen S/C and mods include Racecraft suspension, sfc's, shorty headers, o/r x-pipe, King Cobra clutch, UPR clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster, still not sure yet but either #24 or #30 injectors, and very near future mods will be a smaller pulley for the S/C (not sure what size yet), an upgraded fuel pump, CAI, SCT Superchip with a dyno tune once all mods are done.
I want to hear your choices and reasons why

Yea if your a saleen I would run 4.10's. They already have pretty beefed rears. Chances are you wouldnt really feel much of a difference with 3.73s

4.10's. Like the Bullit guy says, don't fear the gear(even though I use to fear the gear with my Roush). If you had a N/A 4 valve car I would say get aleast 4.10 if not 4.30's or 4.56's. I have seen videos or them with 4.56's and their pretty fast.

Never EVER fear the gear, especially on a new edge with those huge wheel wells. If you start not liking the "high" rpm on the higway, slap on some bigger tires to compensate :yup:

I will be going with 4.10's, pro charger, gauges and an unknown yet short throw shifter as I am still doing research on them.

I forgot you had a Roots blower on your car, and didn't really read your 1st post. If it helps their are quit a few 03/04 Cobra owners that run 4.10's and its suppose to be a very good mod that a lot of people including me are kind of scared to do. Some do not recommend them though.

I meant the gearing is already pretty close to 3.73's and to really feel anything he should go 4.10
Maybe beefed was the wrong word to use.

Just remember to add traction. 4.10's with any kind of torque=smokey burnout. Definately need tires then.

Just giving you hell, don't sweat it, I have made WAY worse statements, ask brad about the argument I had about a guy not having a T45 in a 00 Mustang GT. It was ugly. I would have sold my soul to prove that he didn't have a T45.

Well, in actuality, you're both a little "off" when it comes down to it. The jackass who bought the Saleen brand new from the dealership SPECIAL ORDERED a.....get ready to laugh..........3.08 gear . SO, dropping 3.73's in my car is going to feel like I added 100hp to it.

i have 4.10's and i hate them!!! for n/a they are great, but with a power adder they suck! i had to mess around with my rev limiter so i wouldnt bounce it going through the traps. a 3.90 would of put me right where i want to be. otherwise i would go 3.73's.

I have 3:73 and sometime wish I had gone 4:10. Most of my driving is done in town so the 4:10 would of been ideal, but When I make the long trips doing 75 to 90 MPH I'm glad I have the 3:73 !! IMO go 3:73. It will be a nice kick in the ass going from 3:08 to 3:73

You and he are on two different ends of the spectrum. He doesn't seem to be much of the all out drag racer like we are(no offense, if you are say so USM).
And rev limiter in 4th, I'm guessing? I though 4th was longer than that with the T45'?

naturally aspirated.. I'd go 4.10s... then again I have 3.73s in my 92.. but that's as I don't want to shift out of 4th going through the traps haha

it really depends on the car...I am going with 4.10's in my 05 even with FI, but thats because the stock gears are 3.55's so you wouldn't get a huge gain out of 3.73's over stock
