just gotta stang need help please

i just bought a 99stang with the 3.8 and when it idles it has a rattling noise coming from the exaust i believe. sometimes the idle drops from 800-600 when it does this the noise occurs. any info would be helpful,thanks

It may be the heat shield on one of the cats, or you have a loose exhaust hanger

when you load the engine the rpm will drop a little in idle. When does the drop and noise happen in netural or braking ???

when im stopped in gear or neutral. the idle drops

Could be TPS (throttle position sensor). Are you getting any codes ??? Have you check for vacum leaks Hopefully one of the resident experts will come up with a answer for ya
