Ok, while I had the intake apart a couple of weeks ago I took a peak to see if my hunch about the TB not opening up completely was right. And, it appears that is truly the case. With the pedal to the floor, the blades of the TB sit at about a 40-45* angle, and not 90*. It is only about 60-70% open at WOT. What is the best adjustment to make so the blades will open completely?

Can you disconnect the throttle cable, set the blades, trim the cable and reconnect it? Or will the blades not move anymore?

Does the TB click as you push the gas petal to the floor?

Really I would say just tighten your cable man.
If its like the v6 you can just wrap it as a temp fix. The little metal piece that you have to turn to slide into the throttle arm, wrap the cable around it like twice and put it on so it can't unwrap itself.
That or you could cut and reattach that piece but dunno if you want to...

No
I haven't checked anything on it yet...thought I would see what was the best method before hacking around with it.
Yes, it goes the full 90* when you actuate it by hand. Using the pedal, however, it does not.

I bought a new 2003 Cobra throttle cable and bracket from my Ford dealer when I swapped the 2004 Cobra engine into my 1994 GT. It goes to WOT every time, and hits the stop on the TB before the pedal hits the floor. Maybe a bad production run of cables, maybe a bad production run of gas pedals, who knows.
Original poster...put down the keyboard, get dirty, and figure it out.

Yeah, Justin @ VMP pointed me in that direction this morning in the same thread as the helpful post above. He also suggested a way to use a zip tie to bandaid the situation if need be.

Guess I am a "Helpless schmuck"

Wow, you took off the inlet elbow and snapped a photo. Look out, you're going insane with that 8mm socket. You're a real professional mechanic now.
I posted a reply that was pretty damn long and full of suggestions, and this is the thanks that I get? Nice. Helpless schmucks who can't look at a minor problem and make a reasonable attempt to solve it are the reason why I stopped going to Corral.net several years ago, and I see it happening here again. Have fun.

Does it only open like that if you floor the gas pedal? Can you open it all the way at the TB itself?
Look around your gas pedal, I seem to recall a recall or fix of some sort that covers an edge of the carpet (maybe? its been quite a while) perhaps its' backed off and the pedal's hitting it... Worth a shot anyhow

The simple fix is to simply fix the cable. I checked mine when I put on the plate for the throttle petal stick recall and it opens all the way.
You can put a spacer on the cable at the petal and it will work.

Yeah, I can fully actuate the TB to 90* when I uses the TB cam by hand.
As for the recall, I fixed that myself with a utility knife instead of getting that ugly ass plate installed. I cut the carpet away from the pedal area so that it could never contact the pedal.
I also checked all that fun under the dash stuff as I had all the seats out of the car to check my clutch quadrant for another issue that day.
I am going to check out the amount of play in the cable and try the MW fix first. If that doesn't work, then I am going to call up the all knowing from another site so he can instruct my "useless shmuck" ass.
