what suspension are YOU running?

What kind of suspension are you running? what are some good combinations? progressive or specific spring rates? what kind of insulators are you using, stock or poly? i've heard that w/o using insulators the car dropps an additional 1/4in. but its all bad- due to vibration etc.

H&R Super Sport Springs, poly isolators front and rear (they do give you more drop without them but the ride can be harsher and noiser, metal to metal), Tokico HP blue shocks and struts, Steeda bumpsteer kit, and front strut tower bar. Gonna be getting MMs subframes, Steeda sway bars for front and rear and a rear tower brace next.

Southside UCA's and LCA's(going to ditch them for UPR's at some point), Eibach drag launch springs, Lakewood 50/50's and 70/30's, rubber isolators...

bullit how r those drag launch on the streets?
ben hav u evr ran nething else beside billstiens? if u hav how do the billstiens compare? how much added wieght have u packed on?
ccplates are they easy to install?

The drag launches are great on the street, but I would never recommend them. The rates for the rear are different in an attempt to help with "even" planting of the tires......... Meh... Get your suspension done right with an antiroll bar for the rear... Just get you some good sport springs that don't slam the car for the back. The fronts do wonders though.

All I've had other than the Bilsteins is the stock shocks/struts, and there is no comparison there.
The C/C plates aren't bad. I'd go ahead and try to do springs, shocks/struts and C/C plates all at the same time if possible though. It will save you some headaches. Also, the easiest way by far to change the front springs on a fox is to drop the A-arms. You'll probably want two hydraulic jacks and a buddy to help though.
As for as weight, I've pretty much quit drinking so I'm actually starting to lose some right now. 
If you meant the car... I have no idea. I think the extra weight added by the cage and subframes was probably canceled out by the aluminum heads and other lightweight parts. |

- H&R Super Sport springs
- Koni struts & shocks (single adjustable.... the red ones)
I absolutely love the ride and would recommend them to anyone with a daily driver
....And then I've got this stuff in the garage, but the car's gonna be up for sale this summer sometime so I'm not sure if I'm going to bother installing them:
- MM C/C plates
- MM full-length subframes
- Steeda 4500-series aluminum LCAs

Going for something newer - maybe an 01-03 or something once I manage to sell my truck.
The 83 is fun to drive and all but it doesn't look as good as it does in pics. The car needs a bunch of bodywork and definitely needs paint (I joke that it's only got colored metal at this point). The engine's still mostly stock but it's creeping up on 190,000km (118,060 miles..... which is very impressive for an 83), and even though it's got quite a bit of blow-by, it still pulls pretty strong for a stock 175hp, 83 5.0L. If I was to try making any kind of power with the car, the engine would have to either be replaced or rebuilt. When it all comes down to it, I wouldn't mind keeping it, the biggest factor is that with only my little single-car garage available to me, I just don't have to space to work on it.... plus combine that with the fact that I'd just like to move into something newer, and she'll be up for sale this summer after I get a new toy.

stock springs and struts... maximum motorsports upper/lower rear control arms, MM swaybars.. and some brand suspension bushings up front.. all poly..

I like it, its not really that harsh without the iso's in, and handles great.
