A Thank You Button, when someone does something or provides information you had requested, or whatever...they can hit the Thank You button and then a Thank You count is listed underneath your user name area that will show how many times you have been thanked by other members.
The picture is taken from another forum I frequent...

we had something like this before, but it got ridiculous when people actually started asking people to give them reputation (thats what the old one was i think)

I have a better idea. Allow moderators to give out thank yous ONLY so when a moderator notices someone gives out some good info or really tries to help someone they can give em a thanks. That keeps the point system in control. We cant give each other them either... only non moderator type members can have them.

well I understand the reputation for when buying items from members, but thats kind stupid to abuse a feature like that...
my thought was under were it says Post: under a persons user name it would have a spot that says Thanked:123456 and thats it.
But was just a suggestion, cant see why someone would want to abuse such a area, guess this is what happens when you have all ages accessing a forum.

yeah its unfortuante but when someone asks to be "thanked" so that their number goes up, its just not right.

Had nothing to do with age. It was more of a ego thing. For a few member it became a obsession to get a high rating

Yeah. It was a strange thing... and I see it on all boards that use rep points... it is pretty sad really.

It wouldn't be as easy to abuse as the Rep.
There is no "No Thanks" button.
I can probably add it without a problem and give it a trial run

i find the whole "Reputation" meter more useful on boards with alot of technical information. were a pretty general mustang site, so it doesnt go well.
however on those sites its the moderators who will give the points and access to other secretive "elite" forums, so that only the most technically oriented can gain access through showing they can help others with great info.
