i cant figure out why but my car keeps grinding when i shift into third gear. it only does it when the rpms get high when i shift. if i wait for the rpms to drop then shift its fine.

do you have a firewall adjuster or adjustable clutch cable on it? Those tend to stretch out and you may need to do some adjusting. Also, if you still have the stock clutch quadrant, try pulling out on the clutch pedal and see if it adjusts it at all. Mine used to do that, and it just took some adjustment at the firewall to get it back in check.

If you adjusted your clutch so the clutch petal is as far out as it can go (aka it is actually hitting the bump stop for the clutch petal travel) and the cable has tension on it that you feel when you touch the petal (aka not flopping) then you should have enough travel. You can take the dust cover off on the drivers side of the tranny really easy and watch it pull the clutch fork in/out to be sure if you want~
If that doesnt fix it then it sound like 3rd is just going out

there is one more thing it could be, it can also possibly be the pilot bearing i had a grinding problem with my car too one time. thought it was the transmission but when changed the clutch, pressure plate and pilot bearing all the grinding went away. but if its just third then idk. its the cheapest and esiest thing to check first.
