OK, I've read all over the net on different ways to tell if my 95 has OBDI or OBDII but nothing I've seen makes any good sense. The write-ups contradict each other or are simply not correct. One example... "If you have an OBDII you will see it on the sticker under the hood". WRONG, my 97 doesn't have it. It has the sticker but no info. like on some makes. Anyway for sure how to tell?? Thanks
all you have to do is look at the diagnostic port inside the car. if the port is square with a tap on each side it's OBDI if it's wider on the top than the bottom and the edges are rounded off than it's OBDII

When you say tap, you mean a connection right? Not an empty slot. Here are pics of both my 95 and 97. The grey carpet is 95, tan 97. They are built alike but have different "TAPs?" Sorry for the lack of focus, it's getting dark and it's raining.
sorry I ment tabs not taps. those are both OBDII connectors
